The monthly food bank distribution is actually taking place as I type.
Dozens of households have already been served this morning through the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, which partners with Oakridge to use the west camp as a distribution agency in Caddo County. Anyone under the yearly income limit who resides in Caddo County can take part in the Food Bank monthly distributions.
Our distribution agency relies on the donations of community businesses and individuals to buy tremendously discounted food from the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. That means all donations, even just a couple of dollars, help us immensely! One dollar buys, on average, about 35 pounds of food.
For our distribution today, that meant one donated dollar bought about 18 bags of sweet potato fries. No amount is too small to give!
Our thanks to everyone who volunteers in the food distribution.
“From the IBC missionary in the Philippines with whom Oakridge partners: “Please pray for my safe air travel tomorrow morning to Pagadian City, Southern Philippines. A storm is expected to make landfall in the area today, code-named ‘Sendong.’ I am scheduled to preach on Sunday in Pagadian City. Pray also for divine anointing and safety. Pagadian City is a Muslim-dominated community; terrorist and kidnapping activities are unpredictable. Thanks.”—Joe Dalino
